Pricing

How much does maskwire cost?

While in beta, maskwire costs $3/month. This price may be adjusted upwards or downwards while evaluating what the best way forward is.

If you subscribe to maskwire during beta and the price ends up going up, you will be able to keep the price that you subscribed at.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Maskwire allows you to enable one tool of choise without needing to pay anything. If you want to enable more than one, you will need to upgrade to the Pro tier.

The free tier may get tweaked and adjusted at any time.

Security

How are my email credentials stored?

Maskwire follows industry standard best practices when handling sensitive data. By design, maskwire has no way of connecting to your email provider unless you yourself login through an email client. This also means that no human being with access to the database is able to extract any data that can be used to gain unauthorized access to emails.

Email credentials are encrypted using a user-specific 2048bit RSA key that is encrypted with the users passphrase. Upon login through an email client, the RSA key will be decrypted using the passphrase, which then allows decrypting of the actual email provider credentials.

This information is never stored on disk and held in memory while the users session is active. Once the user logs out, this data is purged from memory, meaning maskwire will no longer be able to connect to your email provider.
